Bolton Institute is a university sector provider of higher education and one of the largest engineering trainers in the region. It provides DTI's Northern Microelectronics in Business Support Centre and the services of a European Technology Transfer Node (TTN) supporting the Esprit projects FUSE (First User Action) and ESD (Electronic Systems Design). These and other major projects offer funding and support to help companies to exploit microelectronics for the first time. The Support Centre is equipped with vendor-independent facilities from entry-level up to the top of the range hardware and software. The staff of the support centre are committed to a technology transfer process, maximising the benefit to the client companies. Advice, practical help and funding opportunities are available for all phases of a project.
