Those Engineers are a core of consulting engineers that employ analytical engineering over a range of topics from electronics to fluid mechanics. The software tools are used in-house and have been developed into major circuit simulation and pcb layout packages with worldwide distribution. To complete the EDA repertoire, specialised thermal analysis and filter synthesis tools are imported for European distribution.

The primary products, SpiceAge and Spicycle, are respectively a simulator and PCB with schematic capture program. While written independantly of SPICE and offering more feaures especially for rf designers, SpiceAge can both import and export SPICE netlists. Its modelling of non-linear characteristics is aided by breakpoints that enable a full scientific range (not only polynomials) of functions to be splined and can result in smaller, more accurate, component models that compute faster than SPICE equivalents.

Spicycle connects circuit schematic data to (and back-annotates from) SpiceAge. A "capture" command instantly maps schematic components to pcb footprints and preserves the component data. This feature allows the pcb to be simulated for a final check of the completed layout.

SpiceAge works with a number of schematic capture programs including VUTRAX and CADSTAR that ouput a SPICE netlist. It also works wih s parameter files in Philips format.

Spicycle can output a SPICE netlist to enable an independent validation to be made through a third party SPICE simulator.
