Design support is
available from initial feasibility study through to turnkey design, if
required. The most popular route is for customers to enter and simulate
designs (on PC or workstation) then sign off to Hitachi for layout and
back-end processing. Hitachi aims to support all major 3rd party design
tools used in ASIC industry. Cell based designs (usually cost effective
for production volumes of 50k pcs/year+) can be second sourced by VLSI
Technology Inc.
